IDY28000 Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Bureau National Operations Centre Satellite Notes for 00UTC Chart Issued at 1:02 pm EDT Friday on 31 March 2023 Severe Tropical Cyclone "Herman" is located in the Indian Ocean, south of Christmas Island. A significant region of middle and high cloud covers most of central and southern Western Australia propagating east to central Australia. A low sits off the southern Western Australia coast with a trough extending into the Gascoyne region. A trough lies through central Queensland and into the Coral Sea. There is some thunderstorm activity to the west of Cape York. A cold front is passing over Tasmania and is approaching South Australian and Victoria. A ridge in the Bight is driving moist onshore flow, which is producing areas of low cloud through Victoria, western Tasmania, coastal South Australia. The rest of the country is mostly cloud free.
