IDY28000 Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Bureau National Operations Centre Satellite Notes for 1200UTC Chart Issued at 1:46 am EDT Thursday on 02 February 2023 A monsoon trough extends eastward from a low in the central Northern Territory, with extensive cloud and embedded thunderstorms along its axis. A trough extends westward from this low into northern Western Australia with isolated convection to its north. A trough extends through inland Queensland to the coastline and offshore, with scattered low to mid level cloud in proximity. Isolated thunderstorm activity continues along the north Queensland coastline. Some isolated thunderstorms persist in the Gascoyne district of Western Australia with a nearby a trough which extends northwards into the Pilbara. Scattered mid to high level cloud is also present. A trough is moving away from the northeast coast of Tasmania and a significant cold front is approaching the southeastern states in the bight. There is a thick band of mid to high level cloud to the west of Tasmania associated with this cold front. Regions of low cloud are evident along the southern coastline of the country and along the southeastern seaboard. The rest of the country is mostly cloud free.
