A broad band of high and middle level cloud extends from the east coast of
Queensland into the Coral Sea. This cloud is associated with an upper trough.

A complex low pressure system lies over the Tasman Sea and a large area of cold
air convective cloud associated with the low can be seen just to the east of the
continent. Patchy low cloud remains about parts of Tasmania and southern
Victoria within the southerly airstream well to the west of the complex low.

A frontal cloud band with embedded thunderstorms is located over the southwest
of WA. High cloud in advance of this front and associated with an upper trough
is streaming from the northwest to the southeast of the state while another
front approaches from the southwest.
