A cold front is crossing the south east of the continent with the main cloud
band currently over NSW, Victoria and Tasmania. To the west of the cold front a
large mass of cold air has produced a large and vigorous field of speckled
convective cloud with isolated thunderstorms around the the Victorian and South
Australian coastlines. This speckled cloud extends throughout the Bight and
south into the Southern Ocean.

The rest of the country is mostly clear, with only patchy cloud near a surface
trough that extends across Northern Territory and Queensland.
