IDY28000 Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Bureau National Operations Centre Satellite Notes for the 0600UTC chart on 26 December 2014 Issued at 5:34 pm EDT Friday on 26 December 2014 Showers and thunderstorms are active across the Kimberley and Top End due to a humid unstable airmass and low pressure trough. Cloud is streaming from this region southeastward over Queensland including northern parts of New South Wales where further isolated showers and thunderstorms are currently active. Another cloud band with embedded showers and thunderstorms extends over the Tasman Sea and is associated with a complex cold front and low pressure system. Cloud associated with Tropical Cyclone "Kate" can be seen northwest of Western Australia near Cocos Island.
