A broad area of middle and high level cloud is over the Northern Territory and western Queensland. This cloud is associated with a surface trough, with an upper level trough lying to the west.
A large mass of cloud is moving over eastern Victoria and southeast New South Wales, associated with a cold front. This front has a mass of cold air in its wake, presently approaching western Victoria and Tasmania.
Some low cloud is being driven onto the Eucla and Nullabor coasts by the high pressure system over the western Bight.
