IDY28000 Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Bureau National Operations Centre Satellite Notes for the 1200UTC Chart Issued at 11:13 pm EDT Saturday on 16 February 2019 A trough arches over northern parts of the country sweeping through WA, across the NT before extending down through QLD, triggering isolated thunderstorms and patchy cloud in the vicinity of the trough. A band of middle level cloud extends over the Great Australian Bight with the edged of the cloud band patchy over southeastern parts of WA. The cloud band is associated with an upper level trough. A second patchy cloud band extends over eastern parts of Victoria then down over the Tasman Sea and is associated with a second upper level trough. The remainder of Australia is relatively clear under the influence of a high pressure ridge.
