A deep low pressure system over New Zealand and associated cold pool are
producing low cloud over much of the Tasman Sea and widespread middle level
cloud and some thunderstorms near New Zealand.

A complex region of low pressure is south of the Bight and has multiple cold
fronts and troughs. High cloud is crossing South Australia, Victoria and
Tasmania ahead of the fronts. Some low cloud is over the south coast of Western
Australia. A small area of middle level cloud is over the interior of Western
Australia near a trough.

A ridge of high pressure is responsible for keeping the rest of the continent
mainly cloud free.
