An upper level low and associated trough is responsible for the band of cloud
extending through the eastern interior. Isolated embedded thunderstorms are
visible with this feature. Onshore winds continue to bring showers along the
Queensland and NSW coast, while a cold front is tracking to the southeast of
Tasmania.

A high in the Bight is maintaining clear conditions through central Australia
and most of Western Australia, although high cloud is present about the Pilbara.
Further north, a thin line of high level cloud, associated with a jet stream, is
positioned over the central NT merging with the cloud mass over the eastern
interior. A weaking front is approaching the southwest coast of Western
Australia.
