IDY28000 Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Bureau National Operations Centre Satellite Notes for 1200UTC Chart on 30 April 2017 Issued at 11:30 pm EST Sunday on 30 April 2017 Ex-Tropical Cyclone "Frances" is located off the Kimberley coast of Western Australia and features frequent thunderstorm activity. High level cloud is streaming off this system across northern WA into central parts of the country. Tropical Cyclone "Greg", Category 1, is west of Christmas Island and intensifying. A southeasterly airflow is maintaining low level cloud patches along the New South Wales and Queensland coasts. Southerly flow is also causing low cloud over much of Victoria and southeast South Australia. Patchy low level cloud is seen covering large parts of Tasmania in a moderate northwesterly flow. Much of the continent is cloud free due to this ridge of high pressure. Patchy middle level cloud covers parts of eastern SA, and western Victoria and NSW from an upper level trough. A cloud band associated with a cold front is moving across the Great Australian Bight towards the southeastern states.
