An inland trough extends across northern WA to the far southwest of the state.
This trough is triggering scattered showers and thunderstorms, along with patchy
middle level cloud over most parts of WA and the northwest parts of the
Territory's Top End. A few thunderstorms can also be seen along the east coast
of Queensland and this is due to another trough located futher inland.

A thick cloud band extends through the Tasman Sea and is associated with a
vigorous, deep low pressure system. The cloud band extends back over Tasmania,
eastern parts of Victoria and southeastern NSW. Isolated showers are expected
within the cloud band.

The rest of the country remains clear under the influence of a slow moving ridge
of high pressure centred in the Indian Ocean south of the continent.
