A weakening low pressure system near the Eyre Peninsula on the South Australian
coast is continuing to generate a mass of middle and high level cloud which is
streaming across southeastern Australia. Extensive low cloud is observed to the
west of this low over the Bight. A low pressure trough with patchy cloud extends
north of this system connecting with another low near the Queensland/Northern
Territory border.

An strong upper level low is slow moving over the northern interior of
Queensland. This feature combines with a very moist north to northeasterly
airstream and is resulting in widespread cloud cover over northern and central
districts. Thunderstorms remain active over the southern Gulf of Carpentaria and
also from the North Tropical Coast to Central Coast districts. A high over the
Tasman Sea is directing easterly winds and low cloud onto the southern
Queensland and northern NSW coast.

Generally clear conditions elsewhere apart from patchy cloud about the Top End
and northwest districts of Western Australia.
