IDY28000 Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Bureau National Operations Centre Satellite Notes for the 1800UTC Chart on 30 September 2016 Issued at 6:44 am EST Saturday on 01 October 2016 The cloud band stretching from the Coral Sea across the Tasman Sea is associated with the passage of a significant cold front wrapping around a complex low pressure system. Extensive areas of cloud can be seen near the low system centred off the west coast of Tasmania. Tropical moisture from the convective activity over the Indian Ocean has formed a cloud band over northwest of Australia. A cold front is tracking across the Southern Ocean while another frontal cloud band is approaching the southwest of WA. The remainder of the continent is mostly clear due to a ridge of high pressure.
