IDY28000 Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Bureau National Operations Centre Satellite Notes for the 1200UTC chart on 18 April 2015 Issued at 11:00 pm EST Saturday on 18 April 2015 A broad area of middle and high level cloud extends from the Indian Ocean and central parts of Western Australia across to the southeast of the continent and the Tasman Sea. This is due to an infeed of moisture ahead of a strong upper level trough. A vigorous cold front over eastern Victoria is associated with the frontal cloud that stretches from northwest Victoria to eastern Tasmania. A large area of "speckled" cloud south of the Bight is occurring in the cold air behind this front. Cloud from thunderstorm activity extends over parts of Cape York Peninsula.
