A strong cold front is approaching Victoria and Tasmania and has produced an
extensive cloud band with embedded thunderstorms. Cellular cold air clouds can
be seen behind the front.

Thick cloud wraps around a deep low pressure system centred well south of Perth
and extending another cold front northwestwards with isolated thunderstorms.

Some middle level cloud extends from the north over far north Queensland and
northern coastal parts of the Northern Territory.

The remainder of the continent is mainly cloud free under the influence of a
high pressure ridge extending across central Australia.
