An active area of thunderstorms and associated high cloud is present to the east
of a trough throughout much of Queensland.

A trough extends from a low in northern Western Australia to another low along
the southern coastline. Thunderstorms and mid to high level cloud are present
along and to the west of this trough.

A trough with an embedded low pressure system and associated high level cloud is
positioned to the north of Darwin.

A cold front situated to the west of Tasmania is bringing low and mid level
cloud to the region.

Low level cloud is present along the coastlines of Victoria and New South Wales
and the western coast of Tasmania due to onshore flow.

Inland parts of the country are mostly clear due to a ridge of high pressure.
