IDY28000 Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Bureau National Operations Centre Satellite Notes for the 1800UTC Chart on 20 October 2016 Issued at 6:05 am EDT Friday on 21 October 2016 An advancing cold front is resulting in an extensive cloud band and thunderstorm activity over much of South Australia, and western parts of Victoria, New South Wales and Tasmania. The cloud from the cold front extends far south of Tasmania. A trough extends from the cold front to northern WA, with extensive thunderstorms activity over central Australia, northern Western Australia and the Top End, NT. A mass of cold air lies over southwest WA and to the south of that state, resulting in low cloud along the southern WA coasts. Another surface trough is responsible for the patchy cloud over central Queensland.
