A complex low, just off the north coast of NSW, is driving the low and middle level cloud along its southern flank onto the NSW coast.

A cloud band, associated with an upper trough, has cleared from the Queensland east coast into the Coral Sea although patchy high cloud persists about the tropics of Queensland and about the Top End of the Territory. Isolated thunderstorms are also evident near the north coast of the Top End.

Patchy low cloud lies near the South Australian coast and about the Eucla district of WA within a moist onshore airflow while a cloudband from a weak cold front approaches southern Tasmania. A broad area of isolated embedded thunderstorms lies over waters to the north of WA.
