Issued at 6:50 pm EST Wednesday on 19 June 2013
A broad cloud band extends from the Pilbara region WA into the interior of the continent and the Bight. The cloud band originates from an area of convection near a tropical low near the Cocos Islands. Further south, a low pressure system is evident offshore from the Esperence Coast with some embedded thunderstorm activity near its centre.
Southerly winds with areas of low cloud are visible over coastal regions of Tasmania, east Victoria, New South Wales and southwestern WA.
Areas of mid level cloud with embedded thunderstorms activity can be seen over the tropics.
