An extensive cloud band extends from northern Australia across Queensland to the northern Tasman Sea and is associated with an upper trough. Isolated embedded thunderstorms can be seen about the Kimberley, the Top End and far northwest of Queensland.
Areas of cloud also cover much of New South Wales, Victoria and southeastern parts of South Australia and are due to a surface low and trough. Patchy low cloud lies over parts of South Australia and central Australia within a moist southerly airflow behind this trough. Much of southern and central WA is cloud free although low cloud is evident about the south coast and parts of the Eucla and Southern Interior districts.
