The cloud band across southeast Australia is associated with a cold front and
pre-frontal trough tracking across Victoria and southern New South Wales.
Speckled cellular cloud in the cold air over southeast South Australia are
mostly cumulus, towering cumulus including thunderstorms.

A strong westerly airstream has drawn patchy to overcast low level cloud across
southwest Western Australia.

Patchy low to middle cloud over the northern interior of Western Australia is
associated with a weakening trough of low pressure.

The remainder of the continent is mainly cloud free under the influence of a
high pressure ridge in the west and northeast of the country.
