A broad area of low pressure extends from the Top End of Northern Territory down
to southwest WA triggering thunderstorms and a middle level cloudband.

A trough over central Queensland is generating one or two isolated thunderstorms
over Gulf Country. High cloud is drifting over northern Cape York Peninsula from
the tropical thunderstorm activity to the north.

A westerly airstream over southeast of the country is producing low to mid level
cloud over southern Victoria and Tasmania.

Remainder of the country is mostly cloud free under the influence of a high
pressure ridge.
