A band of middle and high level cloud is evident over the Coral Sea.
Areas of cloud with isolated to occasional thunderstorms over northeastern New South Wales and southeast Queensland are associated with surface troughs of low pressure.
A weak frontal cloud band is moving over the Bight towards Tasmania with only patchy high level cloud extending over southeast SA and western Victoria. Low to middle level cloud can be seen over southwest WA ahead of an approaching cold front.
The remainder of the country is mostly clear due to the presence of a high pressure ridge.
