Satellite Notes for the 0000UTC chart on 23 September 2014

Issued at 11:15 am EST Tuesday on 23 September 2014

Middle level cloud and isolated thunderstorms, associated with a strong cold front, is moving across eastern Western Australia and western South Australia. Cold air behind the front is bringing low cloud and showers to southern WA coastal areas.

Extensive cloud through eastern Queensland and northern New South Wales is due to the combination of an onshore flow and upper level trough. This mass of cloud extends across the Coral Sea with isolated embedded thunderstorms.

A ridge of high pressure is maintaining mostly clear conditions across the remainder of the country.
