A surface trough and an upper air disturbance are causing convective cloud and
thunderstorm activity over the Qld southeast and central coasts. Middle level
cloud is affecting eastern Vic and Tas ahead of a cold front over Tas.

Further cloud from daytime heating is across the interior of the continent,
stretching north to the Top End and the Gulf of Carpentaria.

A strong cold front is approaching WA with its associated cloud band.
