An area of low pressure across Cape York Peninsula and the tropical north is generating shower and thunderstorm activity about northern Queensland and the far north of the NT and WA. A high pressure ridge over the south of the continent is maintaining mostly clear conditions apart from extensive thunderstorms over New South Wales.
