IDY28000 Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Bureau National Operations Centre Satellite Notes for 0000UTC chart 19 January 2017 Issued at 11:49 am EDT Thursday on 19 January 2017 A patchy cloud band extends along a broad area of low pressure centred over central Western Australia through northern South Australia to southern Queensland. There is isolated thunderstorm activity throughout this low pressure region. Cold air west of a cold front and low over New Zealand is producing large areas of speckled cloud over the Tasman Sea. A weak surface trough crossing western Bight waters is combining with an upper trough to produce a cloud band with embedded thunderstorms. Isolated thunderstorms are also occurring over the Gulf of Carpentaria.
