A trough and low pressure system lie over the southern coastline of Western
Australia, with an area of frequent thunderstorm activity observed in the
vicinity. Some middle and upper level cloud lingers to the north, across inland
parts of WA.

Thunderstorm activity is also observed across the tropical north of the country,
triggered in part by a broad area of low pressure combined with afternoon
surface heating.

A southeasterly airstream along the central and tropical coast of Queensland is
generating patchy areas of low cloud.

Higher level cloud is observed crossing Tasmania and southwestern Victoria,
streaming eastwards from the Bight.

The remainder of the country is mostly cloud free.
