A cold front is moving to the east of Tasmania with patchy low cloud and
isolated showers lingering about the state. Extensive middle and high level
cloud is streaming from South Australia across southern NSW, Victoria and Bass
Strait. This feature is associated with an upper level trough and is producing
patchy rain areas, showers and isolated thunderstorms. High based cloud is also
evident through central Australia in the vicinity of a broad low pressure
trough. A cold front is tracking near the southern Western Australia coast with
areas of cloud along the coastal fringe. Low cloud is visible about the
southeast Queensland coast and Wide Bay and Burnett districts due to a
northeasterly airstream. Northern areas of Australia are mostly clear.
