Ex-Tropical Cyclone "Esther" lies within the monsoon trough over the NT's Top
End. Large areas of convective cloud and thunderstorms are being generated by
this system across northern Australia. Another convective cloud area can be seen
off the northwest coast of WA and is associated with Severe Tropical Cyclone

A broad easterly flow across eastern Australia is advecting a humid tropical
airmass and areas of low cloud over much of Queensland, eastern NSW and
Victoria. While a strong cold front and associated middle level cloudband is
passing over the Bass Strait, Tasmania and eastern Victoria.

An inland trough of low pressure over western WA has produced a patchy cloud
band with embedded thunderstorms over southwestern WA, while low cloud can be
seen along much of the southern WA and SA coast associated with a moist onshore
flow from a dominant ridge of high pressure located in the Southern Ocean.
