The cloud band with embedded thunderstorms across eastern NSW and over the
Tasman Sea is associated with a cold front and surface trough.

Onshore windflow is causing low cloud along the southeast coastal regions of the
country and also along the northeast Queensland coast.

A surface trough and a weak upper trough is generating mostly middle level cloud
with embedded thunderstorms over the southwest parts of Western Australia.

The remainder of the continent is mostly clear under the influence of a high
pressure ridge.
