A low pressure system is spinning in the Tasman Sea, with thick bands of middle
to high level cloud pushing onto TAS, eastern VIC and NSW. This low and a strong
high pressure system in southern WA are directing moist air onshore along most
of the southern Australian coast.

A large band of mainly high level cloud continues to stream across northern and
central interior of Western Australia and extends further into southern NT and
southwest QLD. This cloud band originates from convective activity in the
Indian Ocean to the northwest of WA.

The remainder of the country is mostly cloud free apart from patches of middle
and low level cloud about tropical north QLD coast and over Arnhem district in
the NT.
