Satellite Notes for the 1200UTC Chart on 22 October 2016
Issued at 12:20 am EDT Sunday on 23 October 2016

A surface trough and a strong upper disturbance are generating a large cloud
band with isolated thunderstorms extends from the Top End of the Northern
Territory to eastern Queensland. Isolated thunderstorms are also located over
northern Western Australia along another surface trough.

A mass of cold air over the southeast is being driven onshore, bringing low
cloud to Tasmania, Victoria, southeast South Australia and along the New South
Wales coast.

The remainder of the country is relatively cloud free due to a large high
pressure system centred over the Bight.
