A band of mid to high level cloud and thunderstorms is associated with a trough
extending from a shallow low in southern Cape York Peninsula to a cold front and
low pressure system in the eastern Tasman Sea. Southwesterly winds between this
low pressure system and a high in the Bight are driving onshore flow and low
level cloud across Tasmania and the southern coastlines of Victoria and
southeast South Australia.

A trough extends from the Top End through the Kimberley region of Western
Australia south to southeastern Western Australia. Areas of middle level cloud
and odd thunderstorms can be seen near this trough.

The inland parts of the country is mostly clear due to a ridge of high pressure.
