A vigorous cold front is moving across southeastern Australia. Its middle and
high level cloud has largely moved out over the Tasman Sea with a some still
over the Snowy Mountains. The extensive area of "speckled" cloud over Tasmania
and westward shows the cold air mass behind the front. High cloud is over the
southern interior of Western Australia due to an upper air disturbance.

Patchy high cloud from convective activity over Papua New Guinea is spilling
south to Cape York Peninsula.
