A cold front is currently moving away from the northern New South Wales coast,
with a trough extending back across northeast NSW and central Queensland. A band
of patchy middle level cloud stretches along this system through southern parts
of the Northern Territory to the northwest of Western Australia. Afternoon
thunderstorms are also observed near the trough in northeastern parts of NSW.
Cold air behind the front is depicted by the speckled cloud over southern
Victoria, through Bass Strait and across Tasmania.

A high pressure system to the west of Perth is directing onshore winds across
the southern WA and South Australian coastlines, resulting in areas of low
cloud.
