A cold front is approaching southwest WA from the west generating a band of
cloud to its east. Meanwhile, a trough extends from central parts of the NT
through central QLD to off the coast of northeast NSW and further south into the
Tasman Sea.

Near this trough, areas of cloud can be seen with some active areas with
thunderstorms persisting over from the northern Kimberley across to the central
highlands of QLD. Storms in central NT are particularly severe.

The central and western parts of the country is mostly clear under the influence
of a strong high pressure. Areas of low cloud is present over Tasmania, Victoria
and southeast NSW.
