Extensive smoke areas from the northeastern NSW and southeastern QLD bushfires
are visible extending to the east.

A surface trough extending over northern Australia and through the interior of
WA is generating patchy cloud. Cloud is more extensive through the Kimberley
with isolated shower and thunderstorm activity near the coast.

Over southern Australia, a westerly airstream persists over Victoria and
Tasmania with with a cold front embedded in the airstream moving across
Tasmania. A high in the Bight extends a ridge through NSW and central Australia
maintaining settled and clear conditions. Onshore winds are bringing patchy
cloud to the far south coast of WA.
