The large cloud band over the eastern seaboard is from the interaction between a
surface low pressure trough and an upper atmospheric disturbance. Embedded
thunderstorms can be seen over southwest QLD.

A band of high and middle level cloud over southern WA is associated with the
deep low pressure system over the southern Indian Ocean. The high cloud has
sheared off along the subtropical jet stream towards the Bight and southern WA.

The tropical-source low west of Perth has maintained its identity but is
expected to weaken over the next 36 hours.
