A low pressure trough lies across northern Australia, with the embedded
EX-Tropical Cyclone Alfred over the Gulf of Carpentaria. Widespread showers and
occasional thunderstorms are evident surrounding the TC. Patchy low to middle
level cloud with embedded thunderstorms are also present over much of northern

A low pressure system east of Tasmania is producing an extensive area of
convective cloud. In the west, another surface trough over southwest WA is
producing scattered showers and thunderstorm near its vicinity. A cloud band
associated with a cold front is also evident over the southwest of WA.

Low level cloud is also present over much of Tasmania directed by a dry
southwesterly airstream.
