Cloud across Queensland and northern New South Wales is caused by an infeed of
moisture into a surface trough. The trough stretches from the Gulf of
Carpentaria to the southern Tasman Sea. An upper air disturbance to the west is
supporting this trough.

Areas of low cloud over Victoria and southeast South Australia are trapped under
the temperature inversion caused by the high pressure ridge.

A complex low pressure system is approaching southwest Western Australia.

A large mass of deep convective cloud can be seen near the Solomon Islands. A
developing Tropical Low is located northeast of the islands.
