The cloud band with embedded thunderstorms over southern Western Australia is
moving eastwards. This is due to a trough and a low pressure system.

Mid level cloud streaming across southeast Australia is due to a strong cold
front to the west of Tasmania.

Patchy low cloud over the Queensland's east coast is the result of the southeast
trade wind flow.

The remainder of the country is mostly clear due to a ridge of high pressure.
