A broad area of low pressure covers most of the continent with associated low
pressure troughs extending through the interior. This combined with a warm moist
airmass is resulting in middle level cloud with widespread showers and
thunderstorms across northern and central Australia including down through SA,
VIC, and NSW.

Patchy low level cloud is evident across coastal southeastern Australia in a
cool, onshore flow. In the west, wispy high-based cloud extends over southwest
WA brought along by an upper level jet streak and ahead of a weak cold front.
