Satellite Notes for the 0600UTC chart on 29 August 2014

Issued at 5:03 pm EST Friday on 29 August 2014

Areas of cloud with isolated thunderstorms over the Tasman Sea are associated with a deep low pressure system and an upper level disturbance. Moist onshore flow has brought areas of low level cloud to coastal New South Wales.

The cloud band crossing southwest WA is associated with a cold front moving into the Bight. High level cloud can be seen ahead of this front in the Bight.

Low cloud remains over parts southern Victoria due to fog that developed overnight. While in the north, middle level clouds can be seen streaming off Arafura Sea over the northeast of NT.

The remainder of the country is mostly clear due to the presence of a high pressure ridge.
