Extensive cloud band with embedded areas of thunderstorm activity is situated
over the Kimberley and the Pilbara/Gascoyne region of Western Australia. High
and middle level cloud is streaming from this area over large parts of southern
WA and over southern South Australia. A strong upper level trough just west of
WA is helping to generate this extensive cloud band.

Low level cloud covers central NSW coastal areas and southern Victoria.

Thunderstorm activity is easing over the tropical north of the country
especially about the Gulf country.
