A surface trough and a cold front extends from the central part of the country
to southeastern Australia and links to a low over eastern Bass Strait. Areas of
cloud and a few thunderstorms can be seen near the trough. An extensive, active
band of cloud associated with the cold front and the low lies over the Tasman
Sea.

A band of cloud associated with a cold front approaching WA covers the southwest
corner of the state.

Elsewhere it is mostly clear due to high pressure systems over QLD and the
southern part of the continent.
