A strong cold front and associated cloudband is crossing Tasmania and southern
Victoria with some isolated thunderstorms. Another cold front and cloudband is
crossing the southwest coast of Western Australia.

Extensive low level cloud is over ocean waters off the east coast of Australia.
Some of the cloud has moved over the Queensland east coast due to onshore winds.

A small area of midlle level cloud is over the Southern Interior of Western
Australia near a trough.

A ridge of high pressure is responsible for keeping the rest of the continent
mainly cloud free, with just some patchy high cloud streaming down over northern
Australia.
