IDY28000 Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Bureau National Operations Centre Satellite Notes for the 0000UTC chart on 11 February 2016 Issued at 12:36 pm EDT Thursday on 11 February 2016 An extensive area of cloud with shower and thunderstorm activity is associated with the monsoon trough and a tropical low in the Coral Sea. An area of low pressure system across Cape York Peninsula and the tropical north is generating shower and thunderstorm activity about northern and western Queensland and northern parts of the NT and WA. A high pressure ridge over the south of the continent is maintaining mostly clear conditions with some patchy low cloud evident near coastal parts of Victoria, NSW and Queensland in a moist southeasterly flow. Some low cloud is passing over Tasmania and patchy high cloud is over NSW.
