IDY28000 Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Bureau National Operations Centre Satellite Notes for the 1200UTC chart on 28 December 2014 Issued at 11:18 pm EDT Sunday on 28 December 2014 A broad cloud band extends from northern parts of the Territory to northeastern New South Wales and is associated with a trough. Isolated thunderstorms remain embedded within the cloud band about the Top End and Gulf Country. Isolated diurnal thunderstorms can also be seen about parts of Tropical North Queensland. The remainder of Australia is mostly cloud free. Severe Tropical Cyclone "Kate" continues to move further away from the Cocos Islands while a developing cold front is moving over waters to the south of the Great Australian Bight.
