The cloud band with embedded thunderstorms over southeast NSW and far eastern
Victoria and into the Tasman Sea, is associated with a cold front. Cellular
clouds with isolated thunderstorms can be seen in the cold air behind the front,
mostly over Tasmania and the Bass Strait.

Onshore winds are driving low cloud onto the South Australian and southwest
Victorian coasts.

High cloud is streaming across the northern parts of the Northern Territory and
central Queensland, ahead of an upper trough.

High cloud is also drifting onto the Cape York Peninsula district in Queensland
from thunderstorm activity further north.

A cold front is approaching the southwest parts of Western Australia.

The remainder of the continent is mainly cloud free under the influence of a
high pressure ridge extending across central Australia.
