Satellite Notes for 0600UTC chart on 22 October 2014

Issued at 6:47 pm EDT Wednesday on 22 October 2014

Cloud from thunderstorm development is over far eastern South Australia, western New South Wales and Victoria. This is caused by a surface trough that links to a cold front near Tasmania. Tasmania is covered by frontal cloud.

Low cloud in the wake of this system is over the Bight and adjacent coast.

High cloud streaming in over central Western Australia is due to an upper level jet stream. Thunderstorm activity is also evident over southwest WA from another surface trough.

Low cloud over the North Tropical Coast of Queensland is from a moist onshore airstream.
