IDY28000 Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Bureau National Operations Centre Satellite Notes for the 0000UTC chart on 6 May 2015 Issued at 11:24 am EST Wednesday on 06 May 2015 A surge of cold air on the northern flank of a low pressure system, currently to the south of Tasmania, is responsible for a broad area of shower activity with isolated thunderstorms. Patchy low cloud is also seen along the coast of Victoria and South Australia, as well as about the Great Dividing Range through New South Wales and Victoria. The remainder of the country is generally clear due to a ridge of high pressure extending into the central interior from a strong high to the west of Western Australia.
